Evelyn C. Garland, 69, of Fair Oaks, passed away at her home Friday, Sept. 20, 2013. Evelyn was born Feb. 12, 1944, in Blue Ridge, Ga., the daughter of Grady and Ruby Walker Panter.
On June 26, 1964, in Georgia Evelyn married Lee Garland who survives.
She was affiliated with the Baptist church and had been a travel agent for over 17 years. Evelyn was a member of VFW
Post #1279 Women's Auxiliary and American Legion Post #29 Women's Auxiliary.
Surviving Evelyn is her loving family, husband Lee of Fair Oaks, Ind., daughter Tammy (husband Paul) Winters of Chesterton, Ind., and two sisters, Ruth Green and Juanita VanZandt, both of Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Phillip Lee Garland and one brother.
Friends were received by the family on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013 from 1-7 p.m. at the Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer. Funeral services were Monday, Sept. 23, at 10 a.m. at the Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer with Travis Prichard officiating. Burial followed at Fair Oaks Cemetery, Fair Oaks.
