Brothers, Pat - Bardstown  
Pat Brothers, 77, of Bardstown, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014, at Life Care Center of Bardstown. She was born Jan. 24, 1937, in Nelson County, a homemaker, and a member of The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe "Jack" Brothers. Survivors include two sons, Mark (Laura) Brothers, of Indianapolis, and Neal Brothers, of Bardstown; three grandchildren, Ethan Brothers, Allison Brothers, and Duncan Brothers; three sisters, Dorie Mitchell, Bernie Lane, and Louise Stackhouse; and a brother, Henry Banks. A memorial service will be at noon Saturday, Dec. 27, at The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church, with burial in The First Cedar Creek Cemetery. Pastor Tim Lucas will officiate. Visitation will be 11 a.m.-noon Saturday at church. Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Brown, Wallace - Bardstown  
Wallace Brown, 89, of Bardstown, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014, at his residence. He was born Nov. 20, 1925, in Nelson County to the late Edgar and Ethel Goff Brown. He was a retired employee of Ford Motor Company, a farmer, a United States Army Veteran of World War II, a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church, St. Thomas Men's Club, and Bardstown American Legion Post 121. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Brown; a daughter, Rita Jane Lawhorn; a grandson, Justin Dale Jewell; and a great-grandson, Rylan Anthony Lyvers. Survivors include three daughters, Carolyn Muir (Bill), of Elizabethtown, Judy Brady (Stanley), Lisa Dylag (Paul), and Kim Bowling (Jimmy Hardin), all of Bardstown; seven sons, Jack Brown (Teresa), of Chaplin, Chris Brown (Cindy), of New Haven, Mike Brown (Brenda), Tony Brown (Shelia), Greg Brown (Kim), Kevin Brown, and Mark Brown, all of Bardstown; a sister, Virginia Coulter (Marvin), of Springfield; a brother, Bill Brown (Audrey), of Chaplin; 34 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, at St. Thomas Catholic Church, with interment will be in St. Thomas Church Cemetery. The Rev. Ben Brown will officiate. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 26, at Houghlin Greenwell Funeral Home. A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 26, by Deacon Scott Turner. Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Brumley, Edna Cleo - Bardstown  
Edna Cleo Brumley, 93, of Bardstown, died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2014, in Colonial Health and Rehab in Bardstown. She was the former Cleo Carter, a native of Nelson County, a retired Dental Assistant for Dr. Bill Oakley, a 50-year member of the Nelson County Homemakers, and a member of the Bardstown United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew May and Mamie Elizabeth Duncan Carter; her husband, Rudell Brumley; a son, Derald M. Brumley; and a daughter, Darlene Pack. Survivors include a daughter, Karen Oliver (Gregg), of Cox's Creek; a son, Kevin Brumley (Madge), of Bardstown; a sister, Lila Della Maggiora (Angello), of San Jose, Calif.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; andseveral nieces and nephews. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 29, at Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with interment in Bardstown Cemetery. Bro. Scott Stith will officiate. Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, and after 9 a.m. Monday, Dec. 29. Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Crady, Daniel Butler "D.B." - Boston  
Daniel Butler "D.B." Crady, 91, of Boston, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014, at Hardin Memorial Hospital. A native of Larue County, he worked for Mitchell Oil Company and retired from Beam's Distillery. He was a member of Boston Christian Church where he was a retired elder. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Crady Whelan; his parents, Albert and Maude Edlin Crady; two brothers, Otis and Marvin Crady; and a sister, Faye Worful. Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Juanita Lloyd Crady; two children, Daniel Lloyd (Lita) Crady and Frances (Philip) Foster; three grandchildren, Daniel Paul (Cari) Crady, Lori Beth Crady and Amber Foster (Chris) Hutchens; a stepgrandson, Dale (Mary) Gardner; two great-grandchildren, Tristen and Cooper Hutchens; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 27, at the chapel of Kappel Funeral Home in Boston with Mike Bradford and Terry Troutman officiating. Burial will follow in Boston Christian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 to 8 p.m., Friday, Dec. 26, and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Kappel Funeral Home Boston Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Theodore H. Nelson, 80, of Cox's Creek, died Tuesday, Dec 23, 2014, at his home. Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Pauline Simpson Nelson; two daughters, Paula Fauth and Penny Mueller; and two sons, Danny and Randy Nelson. The funeral is at 1 p.m. Monday, at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation is after 10 a.m. Monday until time of service. Frances Mae Chesser, 73, of Bardstown, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014, at Kindred Hospital in Louisville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmie K. and Myrtle Hardin Chesser. Survivors include two daughters, Connie Burkhead, of Willisburg and Leasa Litsey, of Springfield; six sons, James Frankie Chesser, of Eminence, Kenny Burkhead, of Harrodsburg, Ricky Burkhead, of Birmingham, Ala., Donald Burkhead, of Chaplin, David Burkhead, of Bloomfield, and Spencer Burkhead, of Louisville. The funeral is at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, at Carey & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Ricky Cheatham, pastor of the Anchor of Hope Church, officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Bloomfield. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, and after 8 a.m. Friday, Dec. 19, at Carey & Son Funeral Home in Springfield. Downs, Donna Jeanine - Bardstown  
Donna Jeanine Downs, 54, of Bardstown, died Monday, Dec. 15, 2014, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.  She was born Oct. 25, 1960, in Bardstown, a child caregiver at Bardstown Independent Schools for 15 years and child care giver with local day care centers prior to school.  She was loved by many and helped generations of children. Children were her life; she enjoyed the love and laughter of youth, loved country music and was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas "Leon" Downs; maternal grandparents, Nathaniel and Emily Duncan; and paternal grandparents, W.W. and Louella Downs. Survivors include her mother, Alice Christine Downs; a brother, Kenneth Leon (Theresa) Downs; a sister, Judy Christine (Hark) Parrish, all of Bardstown; and several uncles, nieces, and nephews. A funeral Mass is at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 19, at St. Gregory Catholic Church with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. The Rev. Paul Eve will officiate. Visitation is 9-10:15 a.m. Friday, Dec. 19, at Barlow Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may go to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or donor's favorite charity. William J. Edmondson I, 87, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014, at Baptist Health Louisville. Survivors include his wife, Cora Mae Rogers Edmondson, of Louisville; his children, Sandra Edmondson, of Taylorsville, Julie Constantine, of Hollywood, Ala., Darrell Edmondson, of Taylorsville, Sharon Edmondson, of Louisville, William J. "Billy" Edmondson II, of Taylorsville, Sue Edmondson, of Louisville, and Patricia Niehoff, of Louisville. Hickman, James Ernest - Bardstown  
James Ernest "Jimmy" Hickman, 90, of Bardstown, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. He was born Sept. 18, 1924, in Bardstown, to the late McKinley "M.C" and Edna Mae Livers Hickman. He was a retired employee of the Nelson County Board of Education where he served as a supervisor at Nelson County High School for 29 years where he was in charge of maintenance and custodial services. He was a former employee of Conway Heaton Ford Chrysler Dealership for 14 years, he was a Navy Veteran of World War II, a member of St. Monica Catholic Church where he was active in working at the church, and a former Scout Master for Boy Scouts. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his first wife, Gladys Hickman. Survivors include his wife, Florence Weaver Hickman; his stepgranddaughter, Kena Stith (Robert), and his stepgrandson, Steve Samuels III (Erin), both of Louisville. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, at St. Monica Catholic Church, with interment in St. Joseph Cemetery. The Rev. Jeff Hopper will be the celebrant. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, at Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 p.m. by Deacon Scott Turner. Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
