Garland Anthony Boone

Garland Anthony Boone, 86, of Howardstown, died Monday, March 25, 2013, peacefully at his home. He was a Catholic by faith and a member of the St. Ann Catholic Church in Howardstown. He was the captain of the Howardstown Fire Department and member of the Rolling Fork Fire Department, vice president of the Board of Directors of the Rolling Fork Fire Department and a Veteran of the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emanuel Boone and Saloma Lucy Howard Boone; five brothers, Irvin, Punch, Bud, Ed and Cyril Boone; and a sister, Josephine O'Daniel.
Survivors include his loving wife, Margaret Mary Taylor Boone; two sons, Joseph Edward "Eddie" (Jacqueline) Boone and David Anthony (Tiffany) Boone, both of Howardstown; three daughters, Margaret Mary (Jim) Welch, of Terre Haute, Ind., Charlotte Ann (Steve) Potts, of Louisville, and Anne Garland (Vernie) Snellen, of Culvertown; 16 grandchildren; and three sisters, Aurelia Cecil, of Howardstown, Susan Davis, of Louisville, and Mary Cora Head, of New Haven.
A Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 1, at St. Ann Catholic Church in Howardstown with the Rev. Ken Fortener presiding.
Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Sunday, March 31, with a prayer service at 6 p.m. and 9-10:30 a.m. Monday, April 1, at Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven.
