Donald R. Greenwell, 69, of Bardstown, died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, at his residence. He was born May 11, 1944, in Louisville, a retired agent for State Farm Insurance, a U.S. Air Force veteran who served in Vietnam, and a member of Bardstown Knights of Columbus Council, American Legion Post 121, Bardstown Moose Lodge No. 2408, St. Joe Prep Alumni, and St. Joseph Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Mary Greenwell; his parents, Richard S. and Nora M. Hagan Greenwell; a sister, Jean Marie Bickett; and two granddaughters, Lisa and Amanda Greenwell.
Survivors include two daughters, Christine Marie (Don Allen) Slaughter, of Frankfort, and Cindy R. (Jim) Ballard; two sons, Richard L. (Maria) Greenwell, of South Carolina, and Michael D. (Becky) Greenwell, of Bardstown; and three grandchildren, Patrick Waskom, Allen Slaughter, and Megan Greenwell.
A funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 29, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. The Rev. Bill Hammer will officiate.
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, and 9-10:15 a.m. Friday, Nov. 29, at Barlow Funeral Home . A prayer service will be held Wednesday evening.
Memorial contributions may go to St. Joseph Catholic Church or WHAS Crusade for Children.
