Gary Michael Hutchins, 67, of Bardstown, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. He was born Jan. 13, 1946, in Samuels, a retired vice president for Town and Country Bank, retired from Bardstown/Nelson County Fire Department after 21 years, a U.S. Army Reserve veteran, past member of Bardstown Rotary Club, Nelson County Jaycees, Nelson County Red Cross, Boy Scouts, Jr. Achievement, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and past St. Joseph School Board member and a gifted artist.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John L. and Alma Vittitoe Hutchins; two sisters, Shirley McGoff and Donna Faye Hutchins; and a brother, Richard G. Hutchins.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Roberts Hutchins; a sister, Vickie (Bernie) Batcheldor; two brothers, Jerry (Fern) Hutchins, and Joseph L. (Patsy) Hutchins, all of Bardstown; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013 at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. The Rev. Bill Hammer will officiate.
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, and 9-10:15 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, at Barlow Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held Tuesday evening.
Memorial contributions may go to Hospice of Nelson County or St. Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund.
