Mr. Robert Willard "Bobby" Ferguson Sr., 86, of Bardstown, passed away Wednes–day, Dec. 11, 2013, in Elizabethtown.
He was born July 16, 1927, in Bardstown, was a retired employee of LG&E, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and of the Baptist faith.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Ella Mae Barnes Ferguson; his wife, Christine Kinder Ferguson; two daughters, Carlene Neathery and Lucille Knight; a grandson, John Paul Ferguson; one brother, Hamilton Ferguson; and two sisters, Dorothy Story and Helen Breeden.
Survivors include two sons, R.W. (Katie) Ferguson Jr., of Lebanon Junction, and Bruce Alan (Mary Joann) Ferguson of Taylorsville; one daughter, Cathy (David) Newman of Shepherdsville; and three brothers, Donnie Ferguson and Bro. Isaac Ferguson, both of Bardstown, and Ed Ferguson, of Georgetown, Ind. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
The funeral will be Saturday, Dec. 14, at noon at The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church with Brother Tim Lucas officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home and Saturday after 10 a.m. at The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church.
