Annie Laurie Parrott Dillard, beloved wife of Kenneth B Dillard Jr., passed away at her home Sunday, Oct. 8, 2017, surrounded by her loving family after courageously fighting both debilitating rheumatoid arthritis and cancer. She was born in Lebanon, daughter of the late Evan H "Shyne" and Elizabeth "Liz" Noe Parrott. She is a graduate of St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing and spent her professional career caring for others in their time of need in Louisville, Bowling Green and Danville before settling in Bardstown.
Laurie is survived by three children, Deborah Dillard Norris (Jacob), of Bardstown, Kathryn Dillard Blevins (Chad), of Sammamish, Wash., and Patrick Dillard (Dawn), of Bardstown; a stepson, Kenneth B. Dillard III, of Cincinnati; a stepdaughter Laurie Johnson of Louisville, KY, five much loved grandchildren (Josh Dillard, Madeline Sims, Nicholas Sims, Benjamin Sims and Olivia Blevins), five siblings, USAF Ret. Colonel Evan H. Parrott, Jr. (Ellie), of Ashburn, Va., Peggy Feige, (USAF Ret. Edmund F Feige, LTC), Annandale, Va., Betty Barnett (Lee), of Alexander City, Ala., Sue Winfield (Dave), of Fairfax, Va., and Rita Parrott, of Campbell, Calif.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family wishes to express its heartfelt thanks to the skilled and thoughtful employees of Colonial Nursing Home and especially for the care and many kindnesses given by the staff of Hospice of Nelson County.
A Mass of Catholic faith will celebrate Laurie's life at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. The Rev. Joe Batcheldor will officiate.
Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct 12, and 9-10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13, at Barlow Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Hospice of Nelson County.
