Bobby Ray Kennedy, 71, Lyons Station, died Sunday, July 29, 2012, at his residence. He was Born April 15, 1941, in Larue County, a member of Rolling Fork Baptist Church in Nelson County, a retired plant manager of Zak Limited Cooperage in Athertonville and was a veteran with the United States Army and a Kentucky Colonel. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Nannie Coyle Kennedy; his wife, Celesta Brady Kennedy; four brothers Ernest Lee Kennedy, Leonard "Fiddle bow" Kennedy, Charles Lee Kennedy, George Everett "Dugan" Kennedy; and a sister, Bessie Holbert. Survivors include a daughter, Cindy Kennedy, of Lyons Station; a sister, Betty Jacquart, of Aurora, Colo.; a loving companion, Shirley Hatfield, and her family Steven Hatfield, Susan, Hatfield, Ashley Hatfield, Alicia Hatfield, Amber Hatfield, Anna Hatfield, Sherri Sallee, Alan Sallee, Emily Sallee, Mallory Sallee and Ann Tyler Sallee. A Celebration of Life service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, at Rolling Fork Baptist Church in Boston "Nelson County" with Bro. Bruce Nichols and Bro. Scott Kerr presiding. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in New Haven. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, and from 8-10:30 a.m. Wednesday followed by a procession to the church for the service at 11 a.m. Joseph Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
