Elizabeth "Libby" Cecelia Elliott, a former Bardstown resident, died Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at DuPont Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind. She was the former Libby Allen, a graduate of Rutgers College in New Jersey, worked for organizations, such as KY Alliance and the NAACP and was awarded volunteer of the Year by NAACP. She was a former member of St. Monica Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Greenwell and Florence Cecelia Lydian Allen; a brother, Richard "R.C." Allen; and two sisters, Eva Mae Stone and Sue Willie Allen. Survivors include her husband, George Deo Elliott, Tuscon, Ariz.; three sons, Bryan (Lisa) Elliott, Craig Elliott and Terrance Elliott, all of Louisville; 11 grandchildren, three great-grand- children; two sisters, Carrie Stivers, Bardstown, and Daisy Jean Allen, Louisville; and several cousins, aunts and uncles. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Monica Catholic Church with burial in Bardstown Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the church and after 9 a.m. Monday until time of service at the church. Greenwell-Houghlin Northside Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
