Ernest "Boots" Nally, 79, of Bardstown, went home to his heavenly father Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017. He was born on Sept. 16, 1938, in Nelson County to the late Percy Felix and Mary Beatrice Skaggs Nally. He retired from Heaven Hill Distillery in 2002, was a member of New Beginning Baptist Church, and an avid outdoorsman. Boots loved spending time in the woods year round, whether it be hunting or fishing. He especially enjoyed hunting with his nephew, Junior "Bubba" Culver whom he loved as a son.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his three brothers, J.W. Cissell, Percy Nally Jr., George "Bud" Nally; and one sister, Mary Perkins.
He is survived by his beloved wife Roberta Yocum Nally, of Bardstown, three daughters, Debbie (Doug) Osborne, of Bardstown, Tricia (Marty) Cain, of Taylorsville, Sandy (Brent) Haydon, of Bardstown; three sisters, Fronie Case, of Indiana, Penny (Paul) Culver, of Bardstown, Dolly (Jack) Bishop, of Lexington; eight grandchildren, Jenni Osborne, Bret (Joy) Osborne, Brittany (Jacob) Hall, Derek Bryan, Sarah Haydon, Madaline Haydon, Mariam Haydon and Alexandra Haydon; and four great-grandchildren, Emma Hall, Anna Cvitkovic, Kaleb Osborne and Braylee Osborne.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, at Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with interment in Bardstown Cemetery. Brother Jeff Griggs and Brother Ike Ferguson will officiate.
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, and after 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, at the funeral home.
