Gary Lynn Miracle, 65, of Cox's Creek, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2018, at Norton Hosparus in Louisville. He was born July 22, 1952, in Pineville to the late Chester and Faye Creech Miracle. Gary was a teacher for the Jefferson County Board of Education and a former teacher with the Nelson County School Board, where he was also a former school board member. He had a love of gardening and was a former soccer referee and made it to a state finals game. He was a member of Cox's Creek Baptist Church where he served as a trustee and choir member.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Jean "Patti" Cornelius Miracle; and a brother, Ronnie Miracle.
He is survived by his daughter, Jamie Mallard, of Cox's Creek; a son, Seth Miracle, of Louisville; two grandchildren, Teagan and Kellan Mallard; and a brother, Larry Miracle, of Cox's Creek.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday, June 11, at Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Bratcher officiating. Interment will be in Cox's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Sunday, June 10, and after 8:30 a.m. Monday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Cox's Creek Building Fund.
