Iona Hook, 73, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. She was born Dec. 16, 1943, in Glasgow, Ky., to the late Charles and Ollie Sinclair Rooks. Iona was a homemaker and a Christian.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Ima Jean Gogel.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, James E. "Jim" Hook Sr., of Springfield; two sons, James E. "Jim" Hook Jr. of Indianapolis, Ind., and John Hook, of Mount Washington; two daughters, Susan (Tom) Chambless, of Bardstown, and Karen Jones, of Springfield; and one brother, Alburn Rooks, of Bardstown. She is also survived by five grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, one great-grandchild and six step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, at Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with interment in Holy Trinity Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be Saturday from 1 to 6 p.m. and after 11 a.m. Sunday at Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, 1475 New Shepherdsville Road.
