James E. "Buddy" White, 77, of Bloomfield, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2018, in Morning Pointe of Frankfort. He was born July 13, 1940, in Nelson County to the late Tony and Anna Hahn White. Buddy was the former owner of White's Grocery in Fairfield, a former insurance agent for Monumental and the former Commonwealth Life Insurance Companies, a charter member and deacon of Community Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg, and a member of Gideon's International.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline White; and three sisters, Louise Tingle, Jewel Foster and Christine Thomas.
He is survived by his daughter, Jana (Lamont) Terrell, of Lawrenceburg; his son, Jimmy (Tina) White, of Bloomfield; and two grandchildren, Caleb White and Lance Terrell.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 9, at Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Bro. Steve Broughton will officiate. Interment will be in Highview Cemetery. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Sunday, July 8, at the funeral home.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contribution to Gideons International or Bluegrass Hospice & Care.
