James Leon Nalley, Sr., 76, of Loretto, died Thursday, March 21, 2013, at his residence.
He was born June 11, 1936, in Marion County. He retired from G.E. in 1994 after 40 years of service and was a member of the Loretto Sportsman's Club.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Frances Wade Nalley; his parents, Henry Ivo Nalley Sr. and Mary Genevieve Downs Nalley; four sisters, Margaret Ann Chesher, Frances Elizabeth Mattingly, Bonnie Wade and Angela Couch; and an infant brother, Joseph Gary Nalley.
Survivors include a daughter, Darlene (Charles) Brammer, of Loretto, three sons, James (Patricia) Nalley, of Springfield, Don Nalley, of New Haven, and David Nalley, of Mount Washington; seven grandchildren, Lee, Jeremy, Scottie, Don, Ann and Kim Nalley and Nichole Brammer; seven great-grandchildren; four sisters, Omia (Wilber) Kelty, of Springfield, Brenda (Roger) Conder, Sheila (Doug) Warner and Genny Lovingood, all of Bardstown; two brothers, Jerry (Sandra) Nalley and Henry (Mary) Ivo Nalley, Jr., all of New Haven.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, at Holy Cross Church followed by interment in the church cemetery. The Rev. R. Joseph Hemmerle will be the celebrant.
Visitation is noon-8 p.m. Monday, March 25, at Mattingly Funeral Home with a prayer service at 5 p.m.
