James Patrick "Pat" Miller, 61, of Bardstown, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 23, 1956, to the late Charles William Miller and Mildred Lynch Miller-Troutman. He was a 19-year employee of the Nelson County High School district, an avid golfer, and a devoted husband and father.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Charles Lee and Alice Miller; and his niece, Charlotte Hayden.
He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Deborah "Debbie" Miller; his daughters, Patricia "Tricia" (Mark) Brackett, of Elizabethtown, Alina (James) Williams, of Elizabethtown; a son, Christopher "Chris" (Robin) Ritchie, of Bardstown; two sisters, Linda (Sam) Lawrence, of Edgewood, Sara (Jack) Clements, of Bardstown; six grandchildren, Samantha Miller, James Miller, Madalyn Ritchie, Nalani Ritchie, Taylor Brackett and Madison Brackett; a nephew he considered like a brother, Charles Michael "Mike" Miller; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, at Barlow Funeral Home with cremation to follow.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, and 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Oct 7, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Cancer Foundation.
