Jerry Baker III, 57, of Horse Cave, formerly of Bardstown, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at his residence. He was born on Feb. 4, 1961, in West Point, Miss., to Jerry Baker Jr. and Martha Newell Hickman. Jerry was a graduate of Bardstown High School, a Navy veteran and a member of the Our Lady of the Cave Catholic Church. He was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus and sang in the church choir. He was an employee of Dart Manufacturing and a former truck driver for Avery Trucking.
Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Cornelius Hickman.
Survivors include his mother, Martha N. Hickman, of Bardstown; two sisters, Cora (Ricky) Lugo, of Bluffton, S.C., Bonnie Hickman, of East Orange, N.J.; a brother Greg (Monica) Hickman, of Olive Branch, Miss.; a nephew, Elijah Lugo; a niece, Shaina Lugo; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Cremation was chosen by the family and a memorial Mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 12, at St. Monica Catholic Church with the Rev. Jason Harris as the celebrant. Interment will be in Bardstown Cemetery. Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Saturday, May 12, at the church.
