Joseph David Barnett, 47, of Bardstown, died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012, at his residence. He was born Nov. 25, 1964, in Bardstown, was employed as a machinist at American Greetings for 25 years, was a sales representative for Vermeer Sales and Services for the last three years and was a member of St. Michael Church in Fairfield. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Hutchins Barnett; and a brother, Ricky Barnett. Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Sandy Barnett; a son, Wes Barnett, of Bardstown; two daughters, Tiffanie (Wesley) Clark, of Springfield, and Courtney Barnett, of Bardstown; a granddaughter, Zoey Rose Clark; his father, William Hamilton "Ham" Barnett, of Bardstown; two brothers, Jimmy Barnett and Billy (Denise) Barnett; three sisters, Pat Barnett, Susie Comer and Jennifer Barnett; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. The Rev. Troy Overton will be the celebrant.
