Kenneth W. Elliott, 89, Lyons Station, died Saturday, July 5, 2012. He was a member of the College Height Methodist Church, Elizabethtown, a retired employee of the U.S. Postal Service. He served in World War II and Korean wars, and retired from the U.S. Army as Staff Sergeant after 20 years of service. Medals awarded to Kenneth, Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Good Conduct, Army of Occupation Japan, American Defense, American Campaign, Asiatic Pacific Campaign, Philippine Liberation, World War II Victory, National Defense and Korean Service. Badges awarded were; Expert Infantry, Combat Infantry and Marksman M1 Rifle and Carbine. He loved his family and enjoyed life. He will be missed by all. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nola Christine Elliott. Survivors include two sons, Dan (Josephine) Elliott and David (Brenda) Elliott; seven grandchildren, Dana Sweeney, Jason Elliott, Damon Elliott, Amanda Elliott, Andrea Flager, Wes Carter and Justin Carter; four great-grandchildren, Raychel Sweeney, Chandler Sweeney, Quentin Sweeney and Justin Elliott. The funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home, New Haven. The Rev. Adam Sparks will be presiding. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the service. Burial will be 1 p.m. in the Kentucky Veterans Central Cemetery, Radcliff. Joseph Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
