Lee Hagan Jones, 65, died Friday, Aug. 3, 2018, in Winter Haven, Fla. He was born Aug. 3, 1953, in Louisville. Lee was a 1971 graduate of Bardstown High School, attended St. Catharine Jr. College and Western Kentucky University. He was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winter Haven, Fla., and was a 3rd. Degree member of St. Joseph's Knights of Columbus Council No. 4726. He retired as a project administrator for the Florida Department of Transportation after 31 years of service. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed his leisure time with his many friends and family, and was a loving father and doting "grandpa".
He was preceded by his father, John N. Jones Jr., on Oct. 11, 1959, and his mother, Lisabeth Ann Mathis Jones, on Oct. 5, 1993; his sister, Anne Harlan Jones; and a brother, Steven Jones.
He is survived by a daughter, Lindsey Bennett (Dee), of League City, Texas; a son, John Jones, of Jacksonville, Fla.; a grandson, William Bennett; a granddaughter, Elle Bennett; two sisters, Lisa Haydon, of Springfield, and Cindy Clemons; a brother, Dann Jones, of Chicago; two nieces, Blair Haydon, of Lexington, and Kate Thomas (Rob), of Herndon, Va.; and a nephew, Ben Haydon, of Lexington.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at Barlow Funeral Home with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. The Rev. Joseph Batcheldor will officiate.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, and 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at the funeral home.
