Mabel Louise Collins Snider Harned, 79, of Boston, died Monday, Dec. 11, 2017, at the University of Louisville Hospital. Mabel was a homemaker and cashier for the Lebanon Junction Truck Stop for many years. She was born April 19, 1938, the daughter of the late Joseph Walter and Edna LaVerne Washburn Collins. She was a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Boston, a member and past president of the KEHA and a member of the NVON and held office and parliamentarian. Mabel was a beloved wife, mother, sister, niece, sister-in-law and friend.
She was preceded in death by a brother, James Emby Collins.
Survivors include her husband, Conrad S. Harned, of Boston; two sons, Stephen Snider, of Bloomfield, and Stuart Snider, of Jeffersonville, Ind.; two stepdaughters, Marie Harned, of Boston, and Gail Floyd, of Miami; two grandchildren; a brother, Joseph Walter (Narelle) Collins Jr., of Bardstown; three sisters, Bessie Collins, Sue Hodge andMartha Fern (Jerry) Hutchins, all of Bardstown; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14 in the chaple of the William R. Rust Funeral Home in Boston, 12783 Boston Road with burial in Mount Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery in Boston. The Rev. Darren Chatman, pastor Mount Moriah Baptist Church, will officiate.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, and 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, until the time of the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Mabel's memory to the Boston Community Center.
