Margaret Byrd, 75, of Chaplin, died Monday, June 4, 2018, at her residence. She was born May 20, 1943, in Nelson County. She previously worked as a cafeteria worker for the Anderson County School system. She was a member of Bardstown Church of God, and served as a bookkeeper for the adult Sunday school class. She loved the Lord, and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother with unconditional love for each and every one of them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Leverne Case; a granddaughter, Deanna Michelle Riggs; two brothers, Gerden Case and Roger Case; and a sister, Ruby Jean Case.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald Byrd, of Chaplin; three daughters, Janice Byrd, of Lawrenceburg, Karen (Dean) Riggs, of Chaplin, and Stacy (Danny) Winsor, of Chaplin; a son, Brad Byrd, of Chaplin; grandchildren, Joey, Randy, Chelsie, Shelby, Madi, and Denton; and a sister, Barbara (Charlie) Chesser, of Chaplin.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday, June 8, at Barlow Funeral Home with burial in Highview Cemetery. Pastor Bill Adams will officiate with Pastor David Calvert assisting.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Thursday, June 7, and 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, June 8, at Barlow Funeral Home.
