Martha Lenora Hamilton, 84, of Life Care Center of Bardstown, passed away Friday, June 22, 2012, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. She was born May 1, 1928, in Manton and formerly resided in Loretto. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Irvin and Thelma Laura Blanford; her husband, Paul Virgil Hamilton; a daughter, Mary Jane Hamilton; two sons, Joseph Steven and David Wayne Hamilton; and three brothers, Derlin Newton, Blandford Newton and Vannie Newton. Survivors include two sons, Gary (Bonnie) Hamilton, Springfield, and Eddie (Rose) Hamilton, Bardstown; two daughters, Connie (John P.) Fenwick, Lebanon, and Paula (Tommy) Bartley, Bardstown; two brothers, Johnnie (Janice) Newton, Louisville, and Bobby Newton, Manton; 18 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial was 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at Saint Rose Catholic Church, Springfield, with interment in the church cemetery. The Rev. Mark Hamilton was celebrant. Mattingly Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
