Mary Rose Hardin, 88, of Boston, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017, at her residence. She was born May 2, 1929, in Bardstown to the late Wood and Minnie Ritchie Blaine. Mary was a homemaker who loved gardening and fishing, and was a member of The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Doris Culver and Mary Ellen Hardin; and one son, David Hardin; two brothers, Jib and Pete Blaine; three sisters, Maggie Goff, Ruth Smith and Katie Martin; a grandson, Samuel West, and a special friend, Mildred Hardin.
She is survived by her daughter, Betty (Wesley) Watson, of Boston; one brother, Joe Blaine of Louisville; four grandchildren, Clayton Watson, Beverly (Kevin) Hornback, Shannon Blincoe and Ryan Hardin; 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Saturday, Sept. 9, at 11 a.m. at The First Cedar Creek Baptist church with Brother Gerald Hegwood officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation is Friday from 3 to 8 p.m. at Houghlin Greenwell Funeral Home, 1475 New Shepherdsville Road. Additional visitation will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the church.
