Rebecca "Becky" Ann Pike Edelen, 62, Bardstown, died Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at Jewish Hospital, Louisville, KY. She was born March 4, 1950, in Chicago. She is a 1968 graduate of Bethlehem High School. She received her bachelor of nursing degree from the Eastern Kentucky University in 1978 and her master's of nursing from University of Kentucky in 1987. She was an active member of the St. Joseph Bereavement and a Sister of Charity of Nazareth Associate. She retired from the United States Army Reserve Nursing Corp with the rank of Captain. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Vincent Pike and Joan Garrett Pike; three brothers, Bobby Pike, Charles Pike and JosŽ Pike and a sister, Mary Kay Pike. Survivors include her husband of four years, Mark Edelen, Bardstown; two brothers, Jim Pike, Bloomington, Ind., and Tom Pike, Cox's Creek; three sisters, Theresa Foutch, Bardstown, Betty Jo Dorton, Fort Dodge, Iowa, and Varina Griffin, Bedford, Ind.; 22 nieces and nephews; and four great-nieces. A Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. The Rev. Bill Hammer will be the celebrant. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Thursday with a prayer service at 6 p.m. at Barlow Funeral Home, Bardstown.
