SSG (ret.) Sarah Jean Green, 60, of Radcliff, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018, at VA Hospital.
She served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of Desert Storm. She was an Honorable Kentucky Colonel, as well as a member of VFW No. 10281, D.A.V., and the Abraham Lincoln Post 167 American Legion in Bardstown.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Phillips.
She is survived by her husband, Jeffery C. Green, of Radcliff; a daughter, Sharita Phillips, of Louisville; a son, Jermeil Green, of Kenosha, Wis.; her mother, Irene Lydian, of Bardstown; her father, William T. Phillips Sr., of Bardstown; three sisters, Diane Taylor, of Louisville, Charmaine Phillips, of Radcliff, and Patricia Payne, of Bardstown; two brothers, William T. Phillips Jr., of Radcliff, and Darnell Lydian, of Lexington; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
The funeral will be at noon Friday, Aug. 10, at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Radcliff with the Rev. Harold Craig officiating. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home, 2072 South Dixie Boulevard, Radcliff, KY and beginning at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 10, at the church.
