William Frank "Bill" Wimsatt Jr., 83, of Fairfield, died Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville. He was a native of Fredericktown, a retired employee of Civil Service, former owner of Wimsatt Grocery, a retired Veteran with 20 years of service in the United States Air Force, and a member of St. Michael Catholic Church.

He was the son of the late William Frank and Mary T. Phillips Wimsatt Sr.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Daniel Wimsatt; two brothers; and two sisters. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Potthast Wimsatt; a daughter, Christine Marie Lanham, of Bloomfield; four sons, Patrick L. Wimsatt, of Louisville, David R. (Anne) Wimsatt, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Steven D. Wimsatt, of Bardstown, Joseph William (Sharon) Wimsatt, of Cox's Creek; a sister, Gladys Mahaffey, of North Carolina; a brother, James R. (Christine) Wimsatt, of Louisville; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 1, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Fairfield. The Rev. Bill Hammer will be the celebrant.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday, March 31, at Houghlin Funeral Home with a prayer service at 6 p.m.
