Kathy Jo Kidwell, 35, of Cox's Creek, died Monday, March 31, at the University of Louisville Hospital. She was born Aug. 14, 1978, in Lebanon, was the former Kathy Jo Mattingly, an employee of Sullivan University working in the Graduate School Affairs Office, active with the Nelson County Special Olympics, American Diabetes Association, a W.K.U. graduate, where she belonged to Sigma Kappa and a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Francis Wallace Clark and John "Keg" Mattingly.
Survivors include her husband, Jeffrey Richard Kidwell, of Cox's Creek; two stepchildren, Carsyn Kidwell and Adalin Kidwell, both of Cox's Creek; her mother, Deborah Lynn Clark Mattingly, of New Hope; her father, Gerard (Andi) Mattingly, of St. Francis; two sisters, Becky (Mark) Ballard, of Bardstown, and Jessica Sturgeon, of Louisville, a brother, Dallas Mattingly, of St. Francis; two nieces, Courtney Ballard and Paige Ballard, both of Bardstown; and her grandmothers, Mary Clark, of New Hope and Lucille Mattingly, of Nazareth.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 4, at St. Gregory Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Paul Eve will be the celebrant.
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Thursday, April 3, with prayers at 7 p.m. and after 8:30 a.m. Friday, April 4, at Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home.
The family requests expressions of sympathy go to St. Gregory Catholic School or Nelson County Special Olympics in memory of Kathy Kidwell.
