Betty Rose Prather, 95, of Chaplin, died Monday, April 21, 2014. She was the former Betty Rose Hood, a native of Nelson County, a member of the Chaplin United Methodist Church, and was a homemaker.

She was the daughter of the late Jude and Matilda Hellard Hood and was preceded in death by her husband, Sebert Prather; and a daughter, Helen Parrish.
Survivors include a daughter, Pauline Burgin, of Chaplin; a son, Harold (Freda) Prather, of Chaplin, two sisters, Lorine Richardson and Nancy Simpson, both of Chaplin; seven grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday, April 26, at the Chaplin United Methodist Church with burial in Highview Cemetery. Bro. Bill Greer will officiate. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Friday, April 25, at the church.
The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contribution to the Chaplin United Methodist Church Building Fund.
