Melvin Garland Mobley Sr., 76, former Bloomfield resident, died Sunday, April 27, 2014, in Autumn View Health Care in Buffalo, N.Y. He was a retired farmer and truck driver, a member of Moose Lodge No. 992, in Buffalo, N.Y., and a member of Burch Branch Baptist Church in Shelby County.

He was the son of the late Owen Jerry and Lelia Muncy Mobley and was preceded in death by his wife, Lydia McKinney; a brother, Earl Mobley; two sisters, Inis Mobley and Betty Mae Williams; a grandchild, Kimberly Banta; and a great-grandchild, Waylon Mobley.
Survivors include a daughter, Peggy (Wendell) Cameron, of LaGrange; two sons, Robert (Jennifer) Mobley, of Fairfield, Melvin Mobley Jr., of Campbellsburg; a sister, Patricia Ann Burke, of Pleasureville; his companion, Janet Fadale, of Blasdell, N.Y.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday May 1, at Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with burial in Cox's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Lana Burgin will officiate.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, at the funeral home.
