James Nolan "Jim" "Piggy" Bryan, 82, of Bardstown, died Sunday, May 18, 2014, at Bluegrass Assisted Living of Bardstown. He was born April 8, 1932, in New Haven. He graduated from St. Catherine Parochial School and was a United States Army veteran who served during the Korean conflict. He retired from GE after 40 years of service and was a member of St. Joseph Parish.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Ann Walker Bryan; his parents, John Monroe and Barbara Theresa Culver Bryan; three brothers, Steven Lee "Leeboy" Bryan, Joseph Earl "Nornie" Bryan and Bernard M. " Bucky" Bryan; a sister, Thelma Rose Cecil; two half brothers; and four half sisters.
Survivors include four daughters, Mary Jean (Robert) McCubbins, of Bardstown, Nancy Hahn, Vickie (Bill) Speer, Patricia (George) Morse, all of Louisville; a son, Tony Hahn, of Bardstown; a sister, Dorothy Rita "Dottie" Morris, of New Haven; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, May 22, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with burial in church cemetery. The Rev. Bill Hammer will celebrate.
Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, with prayers at 6 p.m. and after 8:30 a.m. Thursday, May 22, at Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home
