Gerald Lee Farnsworth, 79, of Cox's Creek, died Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. He was born Aug. 15, 1934, in Samuels, retired from Jim Beams Distillery, a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church, American Legion Post 121, a lifetime member of VFW Post 5710-Shepherdsville and a United States Navy veteran of the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Lee and Geraldine Evans Farnsworth; and a brother, James Carroll Farnsworth.
Survivors include his wife, Lila Antonia Edelen Farnsworth; a daughter, Geraldine Lee Farnsworth Cissell, of Florence; four sons, Anthony David (Jannie) Farnsworth, of Clarksville, Tenn., John Howard (Renee") Farnsworth, Richard Kevin (Suzanne) Farnsworth, both of Bardstown, Stephen Lee Farnsworth, of Deatsville; 11 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a sister, Rita (John) Cecconi, of Springfield; and a brother, Kenneth (Lynn) Farnsworth, of Bardstown.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 11, at St. Gregory Catholic Church. The Rev. Culpepper Elliott will be celebrant.
Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Thursday, July 10, and after 8:30 a.m. Friday, July 11, at Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home. Prayers will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
