Kenneth Aaron "Kenny" Barnes, 75, of New Haven, died at his residence early Sunday morning Aug.17, 2014.
He was born and raised in Lyons Station by his late parents, William Robert and Nancy Ann Fisher Barnes. Kenny retired from General Electric after 35 years of service, he was United States Army veteran and was a member of the Rolling Fork Christian Church in Lyons Station. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bill and Bobby Barnes; a sister, Phyllis Dewitt, and two infant brothers, Donald and Larry Barnes.
Kenny is survived by his loving wife, Rose Mary Newton Barnes; his son Michael "Tank "Mattingly and his wife Jackie Ann; his daughter, Becca Hardin, and her husband, Dennis; four grandchildren, Michelle and Macy Mattingly, Kayla Boddy her husband, Matt, and Kirsti Hurst and her husband, Anthony; two great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Hurst and Camden Boddy; two step grandchildren, Calvin and Brandon Hardin; four siblings, Mary Ann Herron of Louisville, Ky., Daniel Barnes and his wife, Carolyn, of Scottsburg, Ind., Wayne Barnes and his wife, Patty, of Lyons Station, Ky., and Gary Barnes and his wife, Jeanie, of Lyons Station Ky.; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014, at the Rolling Fork Christian Church. Bro. Tim Underhill officiated. Burial will be in the St. Catherine Cemetery.
Memorial Donation can be made to the American Cancer Association.
