Robert M. Cecil, 89, of Bardstown, died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. He was born Sept. 3, 1923, in Bloomfield, and was a self-employed farmer, retired from Nelson County Road Department, a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II, a lifelong member of Mill Creek Baptist Church, and loved God, Betty and his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Madge Cecil; and a brother, J.W. Cecil.
Survivors include his best friend and wife of 63 years, Betty Cecil; a son, Robert Wayne Cecil, of Bardstown; two daughters, Judy (John) Shircliffe, of Taylorsville, and Terri (Mike) Rozaieski, of Springfield; four grandchildren, Jonathan Michael Shircliffe, Alexandra Nicole Shircliffe, Jaden Grace Rozaieski, and Ainsley Faith Rozaieski; a sister, Jeanette Washburn, of Springfield; and his loyal friends Puggy and Bobbi.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, at Mill Creek Baptist Church, with burial in Mill Creek Cemetery. Pastor Gary Chesser, Pastor Bill Johnson, and Pastor Danny Haynes will officiate.
Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, and 9-10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, at Barlow Funeral Home.
