Juanita R. Lopez
Juanita R. Lopez, born May 6, 1933, went home with the lord on March 20, 2014. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Fred H. Lopez, her parents, Alphonso Tafoya and Frances Dioses and her siblings Vivian Lopez, Cecilia Chavez, Alphonso "Butch" Tafoya, son-in-law Raul Garcia and many other relatives and friends. She is survived by her children, Michael Tafoya, Bridget Garcia (Tom Salazar), Mark and Devon Lopez, and grandchildren, Rena Tafoya, Olivia (Henry) Alarcon, Raquel (Mo) Vasquez, R. Phillip Garcia, Fred (Pam) Lopez, Jennifer Lopez, and Andrea Garcia, Great grandchildren Julie, Joseph & John Tafoya, Alyssa and Jr. Garcia, Diego & Adrian Vasquez. Her siblings Anita (Abie) Martinez, Elizabeth (Richard) Gonzales, Penny Tafoya, Richard Lopez, Vince Chavez, Andra Tafoya, Edward (Rosalie) Lopez, Chuck (Yvonne) Lopez, and many other relatives, nieces and nephews. She was one in a million type of woman. She worked many jobs throughout her lifetime but her one true love was here family. She assisted in raising nieces and nephews and was always available and willing to be there for any who needed her for talks, guidance, hugs, and love. She will always be remembered by family and friends alike as someone who throughout the years of pain, rarely complained, smiled a lot, loved her "Honey" Freddie, loved to dance and sing to her favorite music. She was so happy when people stopped by to visit, take her for rides or was able to go to parties and enjoy the company of all she loved.
A celebration of her life will begin with a vigil on March 30, 2014, 6:30pm at Todd Memorial chapel, 570 N. Garey Ave, Pomona. The funeral mass on March 31, 2014 at 10 am at St. Joseph church, 877, N. Campus Ave, Upland.
