April 26, 1926 – February 12, 2013
Patricia Brenner was born in Wichita Falls, Texas, the only child of Ruth and Charles Frederick Huscher. She passed away at home surrounded by family in Bakersfield where she has lived since 1996. Patricia graduated from Long Beach Polytechnic and UCSB, where she was a Pi Phi. She married the love of her life, Donald Brenner, who worked as a civil engineer, in 1951. Patricia served the Assistance Leagues of Long Beach and Bakersfield. She found great joy in dressing children with Operation School Bell and working in the Bargain Box Thrift Shop. Through PEO, BRWF, bridge, and friends at the Carriage House she shared many wonderful moments. Husband, Donald Brenner and parents, Ruth and "Fred" Huscher, predeceased her. She is survived by her son, Dr. Brian Brenner (Linda) of Bakersfield; daughter, Katharine Winn (Craig) of Charlottesville, Virginia; and grandchildren, Ryan Winn of Cincinnati, Ohio, Blake Winn of Waco, Texas, Ian Brenner (Kelly) of Warwick, Rhode Island, and Heather Brenner of Charlottesville, Virginia. She leaves behind cherished lifetime friends, Betty Lewis and Marilyn Kimble. She is remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and friend. Her family wishes to acknowledge the caregivers Venus Enciso, Beatrice Gambino, Optimal Hospice and Interim Healthcare who cared for Patricia at home. A private burial will take place in Santa Barbara. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations in her memory be made to the Assistance League of Bakersfield, P.O. Box 2286, Bakersfield, CA 93303. Please sign the guest book at www.presstelegram.com/obits.
