Leslie, Matthew - Los Angeles
The youngest son of Phillip and Lila Leslie of Tarzana, Matt left us with wonderful memories but a deep hole in our hearts, all too soon at age 40. A Crespi Carmelite High graduate, Santa Barbara C.C. alumni, and friend to everyone he met while living in Denver, Seattle, and the past 8 years on Hawaii, Matt had a quiet talent for poetry, guitar, and kindness. Matt was also unusually brilliant with numbers and the stock market, even joining MENSA on a lark. In Honolulu, he was valued as a partner at Switch ATM Networks, and as a technician with security firm, In Control. Matt had recently returned to the valley to be close to his beloved parents and brothers Phil Jr and Andy, and to dote on his adored niece Alexa. A celebration of Matt's life will be held at 12:00 noon on Sat. Feb. 13 at St. Mel's Parish -- but he will be missed forever.

Lima, Manuel - Laguna Hills
MANUEL LIMA, SR. On Sunday, January 31, 2016, Manuel Lima, Sr. passed away peacefully with family by his side. Manuel was born in California and lived the majority of his life in the in the San Fernando Valley. He served his country, traveled the world and worked hard. Loyal to family, loyal to friends… he was strong willed and bull headed, he did things his way, and expressed his opinions wholeheartedly. In his field of work his reputation was practically legendary... very hard to live up to. At Earls Donuts in Chatsworth, he had become a fixture, and loyally went there every morning to hang out with his buddies, and "solve all the world's problems". He is survived by his brother, Edward Lima; his children, Sherry Lima, Christina Salcido and Manuel Lima Jr.; 10 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He is remembered by some of us who were blessed in having him in our lives as Dad, others as Uncle Manuel, to his family it was Manuel, and to his friends it was Manny. To some of the kids growing up in our neighborhood he was Pops, and finally he was Grandpa and Great Grandpa. Regardless of what we called him, we all loved and respected him, and we'll greatly miss him. Safe Journey Dad, we love you.
