Davidson, Raymond A. - Chatsworth  
Honored husband and father, Dr. Raymond Alonzo Davidson passed away on June 21, 2015 in his home in Chatsworth, California, at the age of 86. A devoted husband and loving father, he was a fountain of wisdom and a constant guide to his loved ones. Professor Emeritus of the College of Electrical and Computer Engineering at California State University Northridge, he was honored by students and faculty alike. He was born on August 3, 1928 in Sheridan Wyoming to Amasa A. Davidson and Henriette Ellingford. He was married on August 14, 1958 to Verla Richardson, in the Salt Lake City temple of the LDS Church. He was a member of the LDS Church his entire life, most recently in the Chatsworth Ward, where he served as a High Priest and in various callings. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Verla Richardson Davidson, by his three sons Richard, Arthur and Harold, and by his younger sister, Hazel Davidson Farnsworth of Sandy, Utah. He leaves behind 7 grandchildren. He returns to the loving arms of his parents, and of his siblings Arlin, Arthur, Edna, Jessie, Howard, Annie, and Iona. Funeral services will be held on June 27th at the LDS chapel at 10123 Oakdale Ave. in Chatsworth, starting at 9:00 a.m. There will be a viewing at 8:30 a.m. that morning. Ferrin, Patricia - Los Angeles  
PATRICIA ANN FERRIN Patricia Ann Funke Ferrin, 89, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2015 in Woodland Hills, CA. Born February 13, 1926 in Sacramento, CA, Patricia grew up in Curtis Park and graduated from UC Berkeley, where she met her beloved husband, Ralph on a blind date in 1946. They married on June 27, 1948, and later moved to the San Fernando Valley to raise their family. Patricia worked 30+ years for the L.A. Unified School District with special needs children and was a dedicated volunteer with the West Valley Garden Club, Girl Scouts, Neighborhood Watch, and many more. She was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Encino and the First Methodist Church of Canoga Park. An avid sports fan, she supported the Lakers and Dodgers and loved attending Dodger firework games. Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph (2003); and son, Patrick (1954). She is survived by brother, Edward Funke (Anne); sons, Thomas, James (Lisa), Timothy (Kelly) and Jonathan; her daughter, Elizabeth (Rick); grandchildren, Robert (Janice), Brigett, Andrew, Sarah and Devon; and great-grandchild, Jacob. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, June 27, 2015, 11:00 a.m., at the First United Methodist Church of Canoga Park. Herman, Augusta - Saugus  
April 10, 1924 - June 22, 2015; Augusta "Gussie" Herman passed away surrounded by her family at the age of 91. Beloved wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Gussie was born in Niagara Falls, New York and raised in Detroit, Michigan. In 1946, she met Jack, a young soldier. They married shortly after and moved to California. She was a great confidant and always supportive of her loved ones. She is survived by her three daughters, Sharon, Robin and Tina; and their husbands Marvin, Steven and Jim; four grandchildren, Hilary, Danny, Jenny and Jessica; 5 great grandchildren, Jackson, Sophia, Chloe, Reagan, and Dylan. Services will be held at 10am Sunday, June 28th at Eden Memorial Park, 11500 Sepulveda Blvd., Mission Hills, CA 91345. Following the services, Gussie will be laid to rest. To honor Gussie and Jack, in lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Wounded Warriors Foundation.

Magness, Johnie Larry - Los Angeles  
JOHNIE LARRY MAGNESS Johnie Larry Magness, 74, passed away on Friday, June 5th, 2015 at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, California. He was born on October 25th, 1940 in Erick, Oklahoma to Ernest and Neva Magness. He was the youngest of five children. John and family moved to Glendale, CA in 1950. He graduated from Hoover High School in Glendale, CA in 1958. He played football throughout High School where he was a Guard Captain; Quarterback in 1957 and was a Co-Captain for the "B" Team. John received top awards including MVP. After high school he attended and graduated from Glendale College in Glendale, CA. After College, John worked for his family's business, Abel Air Conditioning, in Burbank, CA. After Abel he went on to work for Piana Heating and Air in La Cresenta, CA and ended his career at Galpin Ford where he worked for 18 years. John was married to Vikki Magness in Burbank, CA. They were happily married for 51 years. After his retirement, John enjoyed staying home, playing with his Grandchildren, his Grand-dog, Panda and spending time with his long-time friends/family, Jim Depp and Karl and Thyra Boeckmann. John is survived by his wife, Vikki Magness of Burbank, CA; his children, Mike Magness, Lisa Magness Veltri, Shari Magness Vanole and Stacy Magness of Burbank, CA; his sister, Patricia Magness Mathison of Glendale, CA; his grandchildren, Garrett and Lilly Magness, Jordyn and Nick Veltri, Tanner and Skylar Vanole and Kelsey Wheeler; nieces and nephew, Michelle and Neal Mathison, Marta, Tonya, Tisha, Shannon and Ciena Magness and Julie Depp Hunter and Jean Depp Ponek. The family will be holding private services. The Magness family would like to thank all the friends and family for all of their love and support through this difficult time. It truly has been overwhelming and they are so thankful to have such an amazing support system around them! In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society or Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, CA.

Malbon, Viola M. - Sunland  
Viola Malbon, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on June 22 at her home in Sunland. She was born in Lexington, KY on July 15, 1930, moving to California at age 11. She met Steve and was married for 55 years, until he died in 2003. They raised and are survived by 4 children, Cheryl, Pam, Jeff, and Kevin, plus 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandsons. Viola studied at CSUN and graduated with a teaching credential in 1963, then worked for 27 years at Sunland and Apperson Elementary Schools. She earned a special education credential, then Master's degree in 1971. Viola enjoyed crafting, sewing, crocheting, and cooking. She was an avid bridge player and loved to square dance with Steve. She loved the music of the Big Band era and enjoyed attending Broadway musicals. Viola will most be remembered for her strong belief in the value of education, her creative and sweet nature, and her unwavering devotion and love of family. Internment will be at a gravesite service at Oakwood Cemetery in Chatsworth on July 11. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Donate Life Foundation, the City of Hope, or to the Juvenile Diabetes Association.

IRENE TOBIN April 16, 1922 - June 21, 2015 Irene passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family. She is survived by her son, John; daughter, Marlene; sister, May Moore; brother and sisters-in-law, George and Millie Tobin and Bridget Shortall, who all reside in Canada; brother and sister-in-law, Patrick and Amy Tobin, of Newbury Park; as well as her many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and many loving friends. We will all remember her lovingly and miss her until we meet again in Paradise. Memorial and reception will follow later, and all will be notified of times and places.

Torres, Mike - Chatsworth  
MIKE LOPEZ TORRES Also known as "Uncle Mike" to family and friends, passed away on June 24, 2015 in Chatsworth, CA, at the age of 67 at home. Mike was born on February 28, 1948 in Burbank, CA to Crisanto and Nonita Torres. He graduated from Chatsworth High School. And also served in the Vietnam War. He worked as a Delivery Driver/Warehouse Man for many years. Mike had no children, but he loved his Nephews and Niece's with all his heart. He was an Amazing man with a Big Heart of Gold. Uncle Mike enjoyed watching Dodger Games, watching his nephews play sports, listening to music and enjoying life. Uncle Mike will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. Mike is survived by his three siblings, Theresa Villarreal (brother-in-law Phillip Villarreal), Josephine Zunker (brother-in-law Eugene Zunker), and Manuel Torres (sister-in-law Michelle Torres). He had seven nephews and two nieces. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Crisanto and Nonita Torres. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 1, 2015, 4:00 to 7:00 p.m, followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Gates Kingsley Gates Praiswater Mortuary, 6909 Canoga Ave., Canoga Park, CA. 91303. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, July 2, 2015, 10:30 a.m., at St. John Eudes Catholic Church, 9901 Mason Ave., Chatsworth, CA 91311, with Burial to follow at Oakwood Memorial Park also in Chatsworth.
