STELLA MYERS-FOWLER

Passed away peacefully on February 16, 2013 in Boulder, Colorado at age 82. She is survived by her sister, Myrna Adams; daughter, Sue Marshall; four grandchildren; Adam, Laura, Mike and Amber; three nieces, Kathy, Julie and Beth; plus extended family members.

Treasured for her gentle demeanor and exuberant sense of humor, Stella was best known as an unfailing friend, wife and mother. Born Stella Koehler on August 18, 1930 in Moline, Illinois, she moved to California after marrying Charles W. Myers on April 14, 1951. She was PTA president of Harding Street Elementary, the school attended by her children, Steve and Sue. She was also active in the activities surrounding Steve and Sue's Boy and Girl Scout years. On July 31, 1976 she married George H. Fowler and together they enjoyed numerous travels including trips to Alaska, Hawaii, French Polynesia, and the Caribbean.

After 20 years of working with the Los Angeles Unified School District, Stella retired in 1991 and became an active member of the Light and Life Christian Fellowship Church in Sylmar, California. She moved to Boulder, Colorado in January 2009, residing at the Wynwood at Ridge Point assisted living facility. The continuation of friendships lasting more than fifty years is characteristic of her unfaltering selflessness and she will be missed dearly.
