REGAN, William David

William David Regan lost his battle with pneumonia on Thursday, September 26th. Bill died peacefully surrounded by his family. Bill was born in Warsaw, New York on Dec 29th in 1946. He attended William Penn College in Iowa to play college football. Bill, a Vietnam veteran, enlisted in the Navy in 1963. Bill was a member of the Navy Construction Battalion. As a Seabee, Bill earned a bronze star and purple heart. Bill was seriously injured after a mortar destroyed a bridge his unit was building. After the Navy, Bill moved to Los Angeles, where he fell in love and married Kathleen Clougherty. They had two sons, Sean and Casey . Bill and Kathy moved to San Marino in 1973. He worked at Clougherty Packing Company as director of Human Resources from 1971 to his retirement in 2005. In 1986, Bill sustained a serious injury while on vacation with his sons; leaving him a quadriplegic for the past 27 years. Bill was best known for his sense of humor and his love for sports. He is survived by his sister Jodie Sowell, his wife Kathleen of forty-one years, their two sons, Sean and Casey, Sean's wife Tammy and their twin daughters, Cassidy and Scarlett. Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, Oct 8th at Saints Felicitas and Perpetua in San Marino. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude Children Research Hospital.
