BERNARD H. BOLLINGER Obituary
BOLLINGER - BERNARD H.
"Pappa B"
October 13, 1913 - March 23 , 2014

Shortly after his 100th birthday and a beautiful celebration, Ben passed away at home surrounded by his loving family.

Born October 13, 1913 in Three Forks, Montana he later moved With his mother and sisters to Anaconda, Montana where he met and married Ann Haffey on June 18, 1936. They were married for 74 years before her death in 2010. Together they had five children- Ben (Lois) Don (Terry) Mary Ann (Paul Milhouse) Judy (Arlowe Collom) and Janice (Jack Lee). His son Don preceded him in death.

At 41 years old Ben and Ann moved their family to Glendora, California in 1955 where they
remained until their death. Ben loved Glendora but his true love was his family, which grew to include 10 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

He was an avid Dodger fan and took his children to watch the stadium as it was being constructed he was so excited. Each of us including grandchildren and great grandchildren had the joy of going to games with him. Later of course he became a dedicated fan of USC football games where he had season tickets.

You may recognize Ben from his favorite table and seat at the Vault restaurant in Glendora where he had lunch every day, Monday-Friday for several years with his friends who are too numerous to mention. He was quick with a joke, generous to those in need and always said " I never met a man I didn't like".

A celebration of life will be held Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church, San Dimas, California. Funeral will be held Thursday at 10:00 a.m at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church, San Dimas, California.

In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to: VNA Hospice & Palliative Care of Claremont, California- 150 1st Street, Suite 270 Claremont, California 91711.
