Danielle LaChance (Crain)
40, of Springfield, Illinois, died peacefully at her home on December 7, 2012. Danielle was born on January 15, 1972 in San Bernardino, California, to parents, Tony and Jill LaChance.
Danielle was preceded in death by her father, Tony LaChance. Surviving Danielle are her best friend and husband, Matthew Crain; her stepson, Kalen Oliver, of Springfield, Illinois; her mother, Jill LaChance, of Fontana California; her sister, LA Graham, of Vancouver, Washington; her extended family, Bill and Leila Crain, Brian and Jennifer (Crain) Martin, Tom and Allison (Crain) Austin, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, too many to name. She is also survived by Seamus the wonder dog, her constant companion, and very special friend. She attended William Woods College where she graduated with a degree in International Business Studies and French. She went on to obtain her Juris Doctor and Masters of Business Administration at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. She practiced law for the Marion County States Attorney in Salem, Illinois. and had been a hearings officer for Collinsville, Illinois and city attorney for Edwardsville, Illinois.
Danielle was a loving wife and stepmother, feisty daughter, a champion debater, a master storyteller, a lover of all things Hawaiian, a remarkable sister, friend and a bright light whose wit, humor and insight will be deeply missed by all.
Although Danielle was small in stature, she was a force to be reckoned with in the courtroom and in life.
A visitation for Danielle LaChance was held at Sutherland- Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois on Monday, December 10, 2012 between 4 and 6 p.m. with a memorial service at 6:00 P.M. for her family. Memorial Donations may be made to the Siteman Cancer Center and will be received at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois, which is in charge of arrangements.
