HICKEY, David Mark
David Mark Hickey, age 58, passed away at Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital on March 31, 2013. He was the oldest of four sons of Tom and Dottie Hickey. David was born in
Buffalo, NY on November 11, 1955. The family moved to Southern California in his youth and settled in Whittier, where Dave lived most of his life. He attended Valley View Elementary, Hillview Junior High, and California High School, where he graduated in 1973. He also attended Rio Hondo College. David served in the Army and worked as a long haul truck driver at Countrywide Truck Services. He also held other driving jobs. He is survived by his parents and his brother Kevin, all of Walnut Creek, CA; his brother Jeff, of Redmond, WA; and his brother Dan, of Bloomington, IN. David was very fond and proud of his six nephews and nieces, who all knew him as a kind and inquisitive soul who made the most of everything in life. David was also very close to his community of friends in Uptown Whittier, where he lived for many years. His entire family was with him when he passed. He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by all. His family is grateful for the staff at Presbyterian, where Dottie worked for many years, for their extraordinary care and sympathy during our loss of David. A private service will be held in Walnut Creek at a date to be determined. Remembrances are suggested to the meal program at St. Matthias Episcopal Church, 7056 Washington Avenue, Whittier, 90602.
