Ellen R. Lundring, age 95, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at her home in Peoria, Arizona. She was born on a farm in Montevideo, Minnesota to Helmer and Emma Larson Rear on October 18, 1916. She was the last surviving member of her family of 7 children.
Growing up during the depression, she valued her faith and family above all else. The mother of 2 daughters, she was active in parent organizations, Girl Scouts and her church. As an adult she served for many years as a volunteer on Contact Help Line and at Hill Avenue Grace Lutheran Church.
In addition to her family, she prized working at Northwest Bell and Stuart Pharmaceutical Company in Pasadena. She had loyal work friends with whom she kept in contact until the end of her life. Ellen had a clear sense of what was true and right and lived her life sharing her feistiness and spirit with all.
Ellen loved school, reading, and sharing with her great-grandchildren that she was the winner of her 5th grade Spelling Bee. She also enjoyed sports, golfing, and dancing. She liked discussing her favorite teams and golf games and was quick to mention her hole-in-one trophy.
She is survived by her daughters; Betty Gibson of Peoria, Arizona and Sandra Indergard (Richard) of Pasadena, California and her grandchildren; David Gibson, Kate Janzen (Wayne), Melissa Mooney, Greg Ciccarelli, and Julie Ciccarelli. Her great-grandchildren Emma and Jake Janzen and Macy and Mitchell Mooney were the delight of her life. She also leaves a niece Lois Samuelson (Don) and a nephew Richard (Joyce) Laumb. She was preceded in death by her husbands.
A celebration memorial service will be held at her church, Hill Avenue Grace Lutheran on July 28th at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hill Avenue Grace Lutheran Church in Pasadena.
