Harold Dayton Masterson Obituary
Harold Dayton Masterson

Beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend passed away September 16, 2012. Harold was born in Franklin County, Arkansas on September 12, 1927 to Tony Masterson and Vermell Rae Daniel. Harold and his siblings came to California in the early 1940s to live in Tulare County. With the start of WWII, the family moved to Long Beach and Harold attended Long Beach Jordan High School. Harold enlisted in the US Air Force, serving as a Helicopter Mechanic during the Korean War. He worked at Douglas Aircraft in Long Beach and retired from Hughes Aircraft in Fullerton in 1990. Always creative, Harold enjoyed repairing almost anything. You could always expect him to start up a good conversation and he loved spending time with his grandchildren. Harold will truly be missed. He is survived by his wife, Janie; his sisters, Shelvia and Christine; sons, Tom and Sam; and his five grandchildren, Jennifer, Jessica, Gregory, David and Bradley. Services will held at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, September 22, 2012 at Church of Our Fathers at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Cypress, CA. Visitation will be on Friday, September 21, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Mortuary in Cypress. Please sign the guestbook at www.presstelegram.com/obits.
