JAMES "JIM" EDWARD BARHAM
Passed away in his sleep on July 19, 2012 at his home in Granada Hills, California. He was 69 years young; born on October 14, 1942 in East St. Louis, Illinois.
A unique and beloved man, Jim is fondly remembered for his fabulous sense of humor, his biting wit, the beautiful music he shared and his eternal devotion to family, friends and faith.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Virginia (Barham) Schmulbach and Robert Barham; his step-father, Russell Schmulbach; and his step-brother, Bob Schmulbach. Jim is survived by the true loves of his life, his grandchildren, Amethyst and Aurora Duggan-Starr, and Aidan and Drake Vicente; his daughter and son-in-law, Larisa Barham and Juan Vicente Jr.; his brother, Robert Barham Jr.; his sister, Betty Lancey; his nephew and niece-in-law, Darryl and Lori Kluesner (grand nieces and nephews, Heather, Evan and Jason); and his niece and nephew-in-law, Laura and John Stransky (grand nieces and nephews, Amanda, Andrew, John Jr. and Justin).
A Viewing will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2012, from 5:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Utter McKinley San Fernando Mission Mortuary, 11071 Columbus Ave., Mission Hills. He will be cremated on July 31, 2012. A Memorial Service, remembering and celebrating his life, will be held at Woodley Community Church, where he served his Savior as a gifted pianist for over 30 years, on Woodley Ave. in Granada Hills on August 11, 2012.
Though it is a blessing God took him as peacefully as he hoped He would - without pain, fear or illness - James Barham will be forever missed by all who had the privilege of sharing a life full of laughter and joy with him. UTTER McKINLEY SAN FERNANDO MISSION MORTUARY
