James Russell Watt
80, of Upland, California and Galway, New York passed away on February 18th.
He was born October 7, 1933 in Queens, New York. A graduate of P.S. 155 and John Adams High School in Queens, New York, Jim earned an Associate's degree from Hofstra University and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Jim retired from Lockheed Aircraft Service (LAS) in 1992 after 32 years of service. Jim travelled extensively abroad in his various roles, including as Director of Marketing for Southeast Asia. He lived with his family in Japan, Singapore and Malaysia. Later in his career Jim served as Managing Director at Airod Sdn. Bhd., a joint venture between Lockheed Aircraft Service International (LASI) and the Malaysian Government.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years: Peggy (Margaret) Watt, his brother: Thomas Watt, his children: Jacqueline Anderson, Colleen Mayo, Kevin Watt, and his grandchildren: Patrick Anderson, Caitlin Anderson and Margaret Anderson.
Jim is remembered by his family, friends and colleagues for his integrity, wit and generosity of spirit. Of note among the many people whose lives were touched: Jim Anderson, Chris Mayo, Kim Watt and Cathy Hellowell as well as loved nieces nephews and dear friends from New York, California, Singapore, Malaysia, and Ireland.
