John A. "Jack" Luther

Born in Watertown, NY August 5, 1932, the second child of Neil P. Luther and Geneva Austin Luther.
Grew up in West Carthage, NY where he graduated from West Carthage High School in 1950. He was the second of three children, the oldest was Mary and the youngest, Claire.
Enlisted in the US Air Force, 1951 and served in Korea and Texas before his discharge in April, 1955.
Obtained his BS in Aerospace Engineering from Tri-State University in December 1957.
Jack's entire career was in the aerospace industry, first as a fight test engineer with McDonnell Aircraft Corp. in St. Louis; and later as a systems engineer with General Dynamics' Air Defense Systems Division in Rancho Cucamonga, where he retired in 1991. He was proud of his involvement in our country's space and defense programs, and maintained an active interest in flying and space exploration throughout his adult life.
Jack was a resident of Upland, California from 1962 until the present. He was a dedicated member of Kiwanis International, serving as Lieutenant Governor of the California-Nevada-Hawaii District, and was tireless in his many years as advisor in the Key Club programs.

Predeceased by his parents Neil P. and Geneva A. Luther, and a nephew David Redline. Survived by sisters Mary Redline of Utica, NY; Claire L. van Nierop and husband Richard of Lake Monticello, VA, nephews Dr. Raymond Redline and wife Dr. Susan Redline, Neil Redline, Mark Redline and wife Diane, Andrew Redline; and many kind and dedicated friends.
