Joseph Bernal
87 of Colton, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2013. Born in Colton, to Frank Bernal and Grace Miller Bernal. He attended school in Brawley, CA where he met and married his wife, Louisa Silva at the age of 17. Joseph served in WWII from 1943-1945 on the USS Hornet. He worked for the PFE, City of Colton and Colton Jt Unified School Dist., retiring in 1988. He was a longtime member of the American Legion. He is predeceased by his parents, his lifelong partner and wife of 68 years, Louisa, his sister Estella Valdivia, and his brother Frank Bernal. He is survived by his six children, Patricia Davison (Ken), Joseph Bernal (Sandy), Ramona Magana (Tony), Janice Campa (Phillip), Richard Bernal (Marina) Rosemary Oliveros, 18 grandchildren, 29 great grand- children, sister Lucy Contreras, brother Martin Bernal and sister-in-law Ann Bernal. The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to Kayla of Synergy and Petra, family friend, for all you did. Services will be held Tuesday March 12th, with viewing at 1pm, prayer service at 2 pm, followed by burial with Military Honor, at Montecito Memorial Park at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery, 3520 E Washington St, Colton.
