Margrethe Anne was born to John Raymond Ton and Mary June Ton on January 13, 1944 in Lennox, joining her big sister, Beverly June Ton. They grew up in Redondo Beach, and Margrethe always considered herself a "beach bunny." She often told stories about growing up as a "Preacher's Kid," or just "PK" for short, but her father's calling did not keep her from having fun and joining her parents on missions nurtured her love for culture and language. She gained her teaching credential from UCLA, and later her Masters, and spent 36 years teaching at Eldridge Rice Elementary School.
In August of 1963, she married James Paul Trittin. Her first child, James Scott Trittin, was born January 30, 1964. Then on April 9, 1968, Greta Anne Trittin, her second child, was born. The Trittin family lived in the same home on Carlton Avenue for more than 40 years.
On May 19, 1997, Margrethe witnessed of Kayla Margaret Smith, her first grandchild and pride and joy.
Margrethe was a long time member of Bethany Baptist Church in West Covina, where she met many people who would become lifelong friends, joining her on adventures small and large, including tours of Russia and Europe.
Margrethe battled various ailments throughout her life, including rheumatoid arthritis and cancer, but she never let them dampen her spirits nor the love she showed to others. While those who knew her mourn her passing, there's no doubt she was spiritually ready for her final journey and has taken her place with the Lord in Heaven.
