Sonny Pugar

SONNY PUGAR DRUMMER DRUMMER Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Sonny passed away August 6, 2004, after a long battle with Colon Cancer at the age of 54. Sonny lived in Burbank and Los Angeles from the mid 1970's to the mid 1980's, playing with local bands and working as a stud io musician. His interest in drumming started before the age of 2, using his mother's pots and pans as his first makeshift drums. He also performed with Coasters and Skyliners, both nationally known bands. For many years he taught music privately and even wrote a drum method textbook entitled "Slick Licks". He is survived by his wife, two step-sons, two brothers and a sister. He was Eulogized by several Pittsburgh musicians at a Memorial Service held August 11, 2004. Burial was private.
